What is an Ambassador?

APIsec University Ambassadors play a key role in positively impacting the AppSec community by helping their peers gain access to cutting-edge training in the field of API security, facilitating discussions about AppSec in discord, and providing direct support for the APIsec Product. As an ambassador you also have a unique opportunity to contribute to and promote APIsec University content at local gatherings or anywhere you see fit. We can provide you with materials and training.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY?

‍

If you want to be an AU Ambassador, you have a few options now. In order for them to make sense we want to take a second to explain what it means to be an Ambassador. There are three main things we look for:

  • Sharing what you know with others.
  • Sharing your passion for API Security.
  • Sharing your love for AU.

How you do these things is (mostly) up to you! We have three tracks you can take to become an Ambassador:

-Content Creator Track-

  • Requirement: 2 APISec-related posts/videos weekly for 8 weeks
  • Examples: LinkedIn posts, YouTube videos, blogs, Twitter threads, bug bounty session(recorded), etc…
  • Tracking: Tracking form with a link for each post to be submitted at the end of 8 weeks.
    • You will be expected to create a doc keeping track of your posts to submit.
  • Bonus Reward: Long form video content takes extra effort. If at least half of your posts are longform content, we’ll send you an APIsec U Hoodie!

-Community Helper Track-

‍

  • Requirement: Level 10 in Discord by the end of 8 weeks.
  • Examples: Answering questions, welcoming members, bug bounty help, sparking new discussions
  • Data: This comes out to needing to send ~5 messages and reactions per week.
  • Tracking: Discord bot tracking + end of trial interview

-Event Host Track-

‍

  • Requirement: 1 community event monthly for 3 months or 3+ events in 2 months
  • Examples: Discord events, study groups, webinars, discussions, bug bounty session(live)
  • Tracking: Event recordings or other proof (screen shots, etc…) + End of trial interview
  • Bonus Reward - We know how difficult it is to host events. That’s why completing this track earns you an APIsec U Hoodie!
